Privacy Policy
Anikoi is made by Fluid Bloom Media LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Anikoi app collects, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your conversations to train AI models.
What we collect
- Your chats and settings. Your messages, the companions' replies, the facts and summaries they remember, nicknames, instructions and app settings. These are stored on your device. If you sign in with Apple, a backup copy is stored on our servers so you can restore it on another device.
- Things you tell the app about yourself. Your name, an "about you" note, your birth year (used only to confirm you're 18+), and onboarding answers such as which companions you'd like to meet.
- Voice. When you talk on a call or record a voice note, speech is turned into text on your device by Apple's speech recognition. We receive the text, not your voice recording.
- Account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous Apple user identifier, and your first name if you choose to share it. If you don't sign in, the app uses an anonymous guest identifier.
- Usage counts and error reports. For each account we count daily activity (number of texts, call turns, voice characters and photos, and when you were last active) to keep the service running and to enforce fair use. If the app hits an error, a short technical report (the error message, app version and platform) is sent to us. These don't include your message text.
- Reports. If you report a companion's reply, we receive that reply's text so we can review it.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; it receives purchase and subscription status, not your payment details.
How your messages are processed
To write a companion's reply, your message, the recent conversation and what the companion remembers about you are sent from our server to AI service providers and processed in real time:
- OpenRouter, which routes requests to the language model (DeepSeek) hosted by inference providers, for text replies and memory summaries.
- Fish Audio (through OpenRouter) to turn replies into the companion's voice.
- An image model (through OpenRouter) when a companion sends you a selfie.
- OpenAI's moderation service, to block content that is illegal or breaks our rules.
These providers process the data only to return a result. We don't keep copies of your conversations on our servers unless you've turned on cloud backup by signing in with Apple.
Where data is stored
Account records and cloud backups are stored with Cloudflare (D1 and R2). Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app shows local notifications when a companion texts you. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
Your choices
- Edit or delete memories: in the app, open Settings (or ⋮ in a chat) to edit or delete anything a companion remembers.
- Delete a chat: clearing a chat removes those messages and what the companion remembers about it.
- Delete everything: Settings → Delete all chats and memory removes your data from the device. Settings → Delete my account also deletes your Apple sign-in link and your cloud backup from our servers.
Adults only
Anikoi is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, contact us and we'll delete the account.
AI and safety
Companions are AI characters, not real people. If you mention self-harm, the app encourages you to reach out to a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
